The City of Killdeer is an Equal Opportunity Employer Job Title: Lifeguard/WSI Instructor The Lifeguard/Water Safety Instructor is responsible for providing a safe environment at the Killdeer Aquatics and Wellness Center, and is also responsible for the continual monitoring of staff lifeguard skills.
The Lifeguard will step in and assume responsibility at the front desk or as needed by the Aquatics & Wellness Center Manager and will provide a positive image of the facility and its service by attentive, conscientious and courteous behavior on the job.
JOB PREREQUISITES 1.
Must be certified as Water Safety Instructor by the American Red Cross within 6 months of hire.
The City provides paid training for this as soon as available.
2.
Must be certified as American Red Cross Lifeguards or ability to obtain within one month.

Must hold current certification of CPR, A.

D.
and first aid or ability to obtain 4.
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Responsible for preparing and teaching Waster Safety classes.
2.
Responsible for the safety, supervision, discipline of pool staff and customer service of and all persons using pool facilities.
3.
Must be able to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
4.
Warn staff and facility patrons against unsafe practices.
5.
Watch swimmers through safe scanning practice and perform rescue/assists as necessary.
6.
Enforce pool and facility rules and regulations.
7.
Maintain order in the pool area, deck area, pool office and locker rooms.
8.
Perform assigned cleaning and maintenance duties.
9.
Assist lifeguards with completion of accident/incident forms.
10.
Guards will perform first aid, CPR and rescue breathing as needed.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $21.
