Cybersecurity Operations – Tenure Track

Position Summary
Minot State University’s Department of Mathematics & Computer Science invites applications for a Tenure Track position in Cybersecurity Operations.
Position starts January 2024.
Responsibilities The teaching load for this position is 12 hours per semester (fall and spring).
The successful candidate will be expected to teach a variety of cybersecurity operations and computer science courses from beginning to advanced.
The position will include advising students, serving on departmental and campus committees, making scholarly contributions to the profession, and supervising students working in a variety of roles.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing relationships and collaborating with those in local industry.
Additional opportunities for online teaching are possible.
Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in Cyber Operations, Computer Science, or related field.
The candidate should have at least three months of experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, Instructor/Lecturer/Mentor or in a related occupation.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.
S.
and I-9 employment certification is required at hire.
Preferred Qualifications - PhD in Cyber Operations, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proficiency in assembly languages (x86, ARM, MIPS) - Proficiency with reverse engineering and analysis tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, and OllyDbg, Cuckoo Sandbox - Experience with unpacking and analyzing obfuscated binaries.
- Interest in teaching cyber operations specific courses including reverse engineering, malware analysis, applied cryptography, and other similar topics.
- Willingness and ability to teach theoretical, applied, and practical sides of Cybersecurity.
- Demonstrated desire to contribute to the cybersecurity community through service and scholarship.
- Demonstrated success in and enthusiasm for teaching.
- Desire to join a team of teachers dedicated to working together to engage students.
- Ability to supervise and advise students completing undergraduate research, internships, capstone projects, and field experiences.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
