TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Full-time, exempt, 9-month contract, benefitted position.
After a preliminary evaluation period, this position may become a tenure-track position.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Art Instructor is responsible for teaching Art courses and developing Art course offerings at Williston State College (WSC).
The successful applicant must demonstrate and maintain competence in Art throughout employment at the college; teach a course load of an average of 15 credits each semester of Art courses; teaching courses during the summer semester is optional for all faculty.
The Williston State College Art Program continues to be an asset to students.
The Art program provides an entry point for potential Art majors wanting to start their education at WSC.
Other students take advantage of course offerings to gain a varied liberal arts education while completing their Associate degree.
The Art Instructor will guide and direct the learning experiences of students through their knowledge, skills, and motivation.
The ideal candidate is student-centered and has a passion for teaching and promoting art.
Candidate must be highly motivated and self-directed.
The preferred candidate is knowledgeable on curriculum and assessment.
The ability to adapt and work with others in a dynamic work environment will be an important attribute.
The candidate must be able to support the mission of WSC.
Other college duties include advising students, regularly evaluating student progress toward course objectives, collaborating with colleagues to assist in course coordination, serving on select committees, and being involved with decisions at the departmental and institutional levels.
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in Art or a Master’s degree in another discipline and 18 graduate semester hours in the Art discipline or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
Preferred qualifications:
Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level.
Well-demonstrated public speaking and communication skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook email and Calendar.
Familiarity with online education and Learning Management Systems.
Demonstrated effectiveness in working with others.
Experience with curriculum and course development.
SALARY: $46,993 base with salary based on WSC Faculty Salary Matrix.
