The Accounting Specialist provides support for a U.
S Department of Labor Job Corps contractor.
The Job Corps program is a federally-funded residential training program.
The mission of Job Corps is to provide career-ready technical and basic skills (academic) training and job placement assistance to program eligible youth ages 16-24.
Summary of Duties:
Responsible for performing the accounting/finance functions of Center.
Significant Responsibilities:
Responsible for entry of routine accounts payable transactions, such as vendor invoices, journal entries and checks.
Post routine journal vouchers or accounts payable vouchers in registers, and post subsidiary ledgers or simple cost accounting data.
Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data.
Responsible for maintenance of routine accounting records and reports in accordance with established procedures such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory control, or general accounting records.
Ensure accuracy of vendor invoices and facilitate any corrections or refunds as required.
Responsible for timely payments of vendors for maximum discounts.
Run weekly and monthly accounts payable reports and ensure their accuracy.
Reconcile Petty Cash on a monthly basis.
Ensures strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Education/Experience:
Associate’s degree preferred, with two years of experience.
Will accept extensive experience in lieu of a degree.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check!
As a Federal Contractor, while North Dakota law may allow individuals to consume marijuana if they have a qualifying medical condition, marijuana is still illegal under federal law.
A positive drug screen with a medical marijuana card will result in an offer not being made.
