Position Description & Details Accountant/Purchasing Agent To track capital project expenditures.
To manage P-Card transactions and logs.
To procure materials or other goods and coordinate activities involved with purchasing products and services for the university.
Ensure proper procedures are followed to comply with purchasing policies on all bids, sole source purchases, etc.
To assist in preparing year-end information for financial statements.
Prepares journal entries, journal vouchers, & account reconciliations Daily bank transfers P-Card balancing and follow-up with card holders Monitor and track all capital projects – including budget to actual, policy adherence, match requirements, quarterly & year-end reporting Work with department personnel on purchasing products and/or services.
Identify specifications, timelines, purchasing authorization and other requirements.
Determine method of purchasing (i.
e.
bid process, sole source purchasing, lease versus purchase, etc.
) Communicate with vendors on price, availability, service, and delivery schedule.
Maintain records of the process documenting bids, authorization, comparison shopping quotes, emails, etc.
Other Business Office functions as assigned.
4 year Business related degree is preferred.
