Job Summary:
The Fuel/Propane Driver is responsible for delivering product via bobtail to our farmers, residential, commercial and oil field customers in an efficient and courteous manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Operates a semi-truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
Overtime available with-in limits of DOT regulations.
Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations for hauling bulk liquid products.
Deftly maneuvers truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas; fill empty customer tanks of all sizes by pulling the hose from the truck to the tank location.
Pick up and deliver product to customers in a safe, timely, and professional manner, using specialized equipment when warranted; returns all equipment to designated area.
Achieve delivery objectives set by the management team.
Maintains signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to appropriate staff when delivery route is complete.
Facilitates routine service on trucks, which may include pre-trip checks, checking oil, water, gasoline, and air; reports maintenance malfunctions to manager.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points.
Ability to remain focused in busy environment.
Ability to use laptop/software programs/ ELog
Education and Experience:
Must hold required commercial driver’s license class A or B with Hazmat, tanker, air brakes endorsements.
Clean driving record.
Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds at a time.
Work outside in varying weather/driving conditions.
