Under basic supervision, supervises students on the playground and in the lunchroom, maintaining a safe and orderly environment; assists in dining room cleaning and setup.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Supervises students on the playground and in the lunchroom, maintaining a safe and orderly environment; duties will vary according to job assignment.
Supervises students on the playground; enforces rules, maintains discipline, reinforces positive behavior, resolves conflicts, and encourages socialization; checks playground equipment for safety, and monitors area for unauthorized persons; treats minor injuries with basic first aid.
Supervises students in the lunchroom; assists in dining room cleaning and setup.
Supports the relationship between the Minot Public School District and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with clients, visitors, and District staff; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records, and District information; follows compliance rules governing child abuse; performs related duties as required or assigned.
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines High School diploma or GED equivalent; some experience working with children is preferred.
Knowledge of:
MPS policies and procedures.
General safety and sanitation rules for public schools.
Skill in:
Monitoring the activities of children, and following instructions and safety standards.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers.
Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
A valid North Dakota State Driver’s License may be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in various MPS facilities.
