POSITION: Bookstore Assistant Manager

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Full time, 12-month, exempt, benefitted position.

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assisting the Bookstore Manager with planning and managing daily operations of Andrea’s Bookstore and Coffee Bar.
The bookstore carries everything from textbooks and school supplies to a coffee bar, clothing, gifts and food.
The assistant manager is responsible to deliver all services that support students in both the physical store and the on-line store; maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with staff, faculty, students, vendors, and the public; perform opening/closing procedures, including cash management, coffee bar setup/sanitation, stocking of supplies, and preparations for the next business day; provide sales and customer service, including greeting customers when they enter the bookstore, processing transactions with the POS system, answering the phone, fielding questions; perform coffee bar barista duties (prepare coffee bar drinks, operate espresso machine, etc); comply with all Health Department food handling policies regarding the coffee bar and snacks/beverage inventory, including equipment cleaning and sanitation; create bookstore displays and maintain a clean and orderly store; monitor and order coffee bar supplies monthly; coordinate orders with snack and beverage vendors weekly; assist with online textbook/merchandise order fulfillment; assist with selling merchandise at WSC/WSCF sponsored events; assist in the marketing and promotion of the bookstore; assist with the faculty adoption process each semester; unpack, inspect, price, clean/repair (used books), stock of all textbooks and merchandise orders; receive textbook and merchandise orders in inventory control system; assist Bookstore Manager with returns of overstock books or defective merchandise, rental returns and buyback events; assist in the annual physical inventory process; and support innovation, creativity, and ideas to improve/enhance processes, functions, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills in dealing with students, employees, and the public.
Good computer skills are required.
Must be organized, detail oriented, ability to handle multiple projects and able to meet deadlines.
Associate degree in related field is preferred.
SALARY: $38,315-$43,000 based on experience plus excellent benefit package
