Summary of Work
Mountrail McKenzie Human Service Zone partners with the Department of Health and Human Services to deliver exceptional Economic Assistance programs to our community.
The Eligibility Support Specialist assists the Economic Assistance team through administrative, programmatic, and client support.
This position works with Economic Assistance programs including Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Health Care Coverage, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Low-Income Energy Assistance, Child Care Assistance, Healthy Steps and General Assistance.
Program training is provided for this position.
Eligibility Support Specialist - Example of Duties:
Assist client in front-desk lobby environment
Prepare general correspondence
Organize and maintain office records, filing systems, and general office procedure by scanning into the computer system that will then process the documents
Assemble and distribute program information, applications, forms, reports, and other materials to clients
Review, input, and retrieve data from various databases and computer system
To succeed in this position, you should have strong administrative, collaboration and communication skills, the ability to scan documents.
An ideal candidate for this position will be organized and able to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
You will have an eye for detail, be able to manage your time and priorities effectively and pride yourself on excellent communication skills, empathy, and being a team player.

Minimum Qualifications
This position requires a high school diploma or GED - plus - one (1) of the following:
Completion of the Eligibility Worker one-year certificate program
Completion of 90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours of a bachelor's degree program
Three (3) years of work experience involving processing of claims, loans, financial eligibility benefits, credit reviews, abstracts, taxes, or housing assistance, or working in the clerical, accounting, bookkeeping, legal, financial, business, teaching, investments/financial planning, computer/data processing fields
Three (3) years of any combination of education and experience listed above
