Administrative Assistant, Academic Affairs
Status: Full-time 12 months – Fully-benefited position
Location: Bottineau, North Dakota, on-campus position
Job Description: Dakota College at Bottineau is seeking an administrative assistant in the Academic Affairs Department.
The administrative assistant serves as the first point of contact in the academic affairs department, this includes answering and transferring phone calls, greeting visitors, responding to emails, and directing them to the appropriate individual or assisting with questions.
This position provides support to the Academic Affairs Department and is involved in a variety of tasks, such as: performing clerical work, taking meeting minutes, project assistance, maintaining course schedules, assisting with campus-wide events and activities, and file management.
This position requires strong customer service skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform administrative tasks and carry out the mission and objectives for Academic Affairs and the campus.
Assist with curriculum management (course schedules, program fact sheets, and college catalog).
Provide support for institutional reporting requirements.
Assist with campus events and activities.
Communicate with students regarding a variety of academic-related information.
Coordinate and maintain faculty evaluations, syllabi, records, etc.
Coordinate logistics related to distance education (data entry, communication, and providing assistance where needed).
Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, excellent written and oral communication skills, comprehensive technology skills, experience using Microsoft Office, well organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, ability to work in a fast-paced/changing environment, high level of professionalism and customer service skills, ability to work independently and as a team member, and ability to maintain confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree, two years of office experience, experience working in higher education, and experience managing project deadlines.
Additional Requirements: DCB does require a successful background check for the selected candidate prior to beginning employment.
Salary: $31,000-$35,000.
